ATM skimming has become an epidemic problem for financial institutions. In the first half of 2015, reports of attacks on ATM’s located on the institution’s property increased by 174 percent. The average loss from each attack is $50,000. Worse yet, if the bad guys are successful, they’ll be back. For the Security Officer, this can be a gut-wrenching game of cat and mouse. As soon as a preventative measure is developed, the skimmers go to work on circumventing it.
